The Youngstown State University Student Affairs Leadership Support Association, YSU-SALSA, is an organization whose purpose is to foster and enhance the educational and professional development of graduate students in the Student Affairs and College Counseling program options.
- Providing information about various professional development associations, meetings, seminars, and other opportunities.
- Promoting and supporting conference attendance and participation.
- Maintaining a resource database regarding higher education topics.
- Maintaining an informational website for prospective and current students.
- Encouraging understanding and collaboration regarding the application of professional standards in higher education.
- Contributing to the overall mission and goals of the Student Affairs & College Counseling program.
- Increasing awareness of the Student Affairs & College Counseling program throughout the YSU campus.
- Coordinating a mentorship program for all interested first-year Student Affairs & College Counseling students.
- Organizing formal and informal social activities (e.g., Student Affairs Meet & Greet Luncheon, Bake Sales, Holiday Mixer, etc.).
- Serving as a resource for prospective graduate students interested in the field of Student Affairs and College Counseling.
